Authorities in Guangdong have allegedly paid 130,000 yuan to the family of a teenage girl who was reportedly beaten to death during the violent crackdown on a protest over land compensation last Saturday. A relative of the family alleged the girl's parents had accepted the money and claimed their daughter had died of a heart attack. Chinese officials have denied that anyone was killed during the demonstration.
